The rivers of Nepal are graded for difficulty on an internationally recognized grading scale of 1 to 6.

GRADE I - It is easy going water with few obstacles. It indicates flat water, no rapids.

GRADE II to III - Any one who is not afraid of water and have a reasonable physical shape can safely go to Grade 1 to 3.

GRADE IV - It is more difficult but more exciting is there.

GRADE V - These are very powerful river that requires a strenuous paddling, has powerful waves, steep constricted channels.

GRADE VI - These rivers are more powerful and dangerous to raft.
