Tamor River Rafting
Tamor River Rafting combines one of the best short treks of Nepal with some really challenging white water action. Four days of trekking from the nearest road access to the put in point through the remote villas, forest and offers amazing mountain views Kanchanjunga, Makalu with an exhilarating river journey. The adventure of Tamur's 4 to 5 class constant rapids will bring descending rafts and kayaks down in dread.
We start our journey from kathmandu to Biratnagar by bus or by air. We begin with a four day trek from Basantapur up over Milke Danda Range to Dobhan and from Dobhan our rafting begins and end at Chatara. The Tamor River mingles the trekking with rafting which fulfills the interest of both trekking lovers and rafting lovers.
Tamor River Rafting Itinerary - 13 days
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Day 02: Flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar
Day 03: Rafting 4 to 6 hours white water section camp by river beach.
Day 04: After a hearty Breakfast each morning, our trek takes us over a 10,000ft pass above the sacred lake at Gopa Pokhara rewarding us with stunning views of Kachengunga, Makalu and the majestic Mount Everest.
Day 05: Trek day
Day 06: Trek day. We descend through terraced rice paddies and mountain villages which lead us to the river.
Day 07: After a comprehensive safety talk we put on the river and take on some of the most challenging whitewater in Nepal.
Day 08: Steep canyon walls enclose the river and the rapids are powerful and continuous, many of which are unnamed, perhaps your chance for some fame. As the river opens up we pass by small fishing villages and watch wild monkeys on the river banks. Overnight camp on a beautiful white sandy beach.
Day 09: Layover day, and a chance to do exactly what you want. Whether you choose to relax and read or join in on a spot of volleyball or swim, the choice is yours. And what a spectacular setting for it.
Day 10: A relaxing day punctuated by some fun whitewater.
Day 11: Some phenomenal whitewater action today as towering waves leap skyward, with seemingly endless rapids surging through steep canyon walls, to finally cascade into the Sun Kosi.
Day 12: An early rise today with a floating breakfast as we watch the sun rise over the hills. We leave the river at Chatara and fly back to Kathmandu.
