Tengboche Monastery Trek
Here is a fabulous and unusual trek to Everest Base Camp, Nepal which is suitable for the first time visitor to the Himalaya, taking a less travelled route to Everest Base Camp. The route you follow allows a gradual rise up through the Great Barun National Park and head for the base camp of Makalu, the 5th highest mountain in the world, before turning westwards to Sherpa country and the trail to Kalapatar. From here you overlook the great Khumbu icefall at 18,200ft, at the base of the great mountain.
